Current Projects

NYFOH implements equity-centered, community-driven programs that address systemic inequities and promote long-term self-sufficiency.
By focusing on outcomes, capacity-building, and partnership, we move families from crisis response toward sustained stability—reducing dependency and strengthening community resilience.

Community Health & Wellness

Annual Community Health Fair

NY Friends of Haiti 2010 (NYFOH) hosts an annual Community Health Fair to expand access to preventive care and health education in underserved New York communities.

Each year, we welcome 250+ families with:

  • Free health screenings (blood pressure, glucose, vision, BMI)

  • Personalized health education & referrals

  • Fun activities for children

  • Food distribution and community resources

  • Live music and community networking

Open to all ethnic and cultural communities, the fair removes barriers to care, encourages early prevention, and creates a welcoming space where families can connect, learn, and thrive together.
