Imagine learning without internet. In Haiti, that’s the reality for most children — only 10.6% of the population has internet access, and less than 1% of public schools have a computer lab.
For young people ages 15–24, Haiti’s literacy rate is about 88.9% (2017).
This shows that Haitian youth are eager and capable learners — but without access to technology, their potential is limited.
In some areas of Haiti, the illiteracy rate is estimated to reach 60%—a powerful reminder of how urgently access to education and technology is needed.
