Selene M.K. Ferdinand is a youth leader, community advocate, and reigning Royal International Miss New York – Role Model (Pre-Teen Division), dedicated to expanding educational access for children in Haiti and underserved communities. As Youth Outreach Ambassador for NY Friends of Haiti 2010 (NYFOH), Selene plays an active role in promoting education initiatives and raising funds to support students’ access to technology, digital learning tools, and academic resources. At a young age, Selene has distinguished herself as an entrepreneur and founder of Meera Empowerment Inc., an initiative focused on hands-on learning, service, and youth development. Through community service and outreach, she encourages children and families to build confidence, leadership skills, and global awareness through real-world experiences. Selene is also a co-author of Road to the Crown, Volume Two and Volume Three, where she shares her journey to inspire other young leaders to lead with purpose, confidence, and action. Her advocacy work extends across education, financial literacy, and youth empowerment, reflecting her belief that opportunity—when paired with access—creates lasting change. Through her platform and partnership with NYFOH, Selene is committed to bridging the digital divide by supporting technology-based education for students in Haiti, ensuring young learners have the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. She leads with compassion, discipline, and a strong sense of service, demonstrating that leadership is defined by impact, not age. Selene aspires to continue her path of service and education advocacy and hopes to one day pursue a career in medicine, supporting children and families at the earliest stages of life.
