Our pantry operates as an emergency assistance program, providing food support at no cost to low-income individuals and families in our community. Access to food has become a significant challenge for many low-income households, making it crucial to help vulnerable communities stay healthy and reduce concurrent health risks.
Located in the lower part of Long Island and Queens, New York, our food pantry aims to assist families affected by the recession or facing financial hardship due to the pandemic. We recognize the adverse effects of food insecurity during challenging times and strive to offer food assistance to those in need.
Our primary goal is to provide fresh, culturally appropriate, and nutritious food to participants free of charge. We collaborate with various partners who supply us with food, with a focus on items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products. By offering these essential food items, NYFOH ensures that individuals and families have access to well-rounded and nourishing meals.
Operating on a monthly basis, our food pantry holds distributions on the last Saturday of each month from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. If you or someone you know requires food support, we encourage you to visit our pantry located at 479A Hempstead Turnpike (parking lot), Elmont, NY 11003.
NYFOH is committed to serving our community and assisting individuals and families in need. Through our food assistance program, we strive to alleviate the challenges faced by those experiencing financial difficulties or the impact of the recession and pandemic. By bringing food closer to where they reside and eliminating transportation costs, we aim to address the barriers that individuals may encounter.
