Human Rights to Water! We can Prevent Water Scarcity

By providing accessible water in Haiti, school children can have the freedom to attend school and learn, instead of missing school due to having to find water for their families. We strive for three things: water must be acceptable, physically accessible, and affordable.

“Acceptable”: Water should have an acceptable color, odor, and taste for each personal or domestic use. All water facilities and services must be culturally appropriate and sensitive to gender, lifecycle, and privacy requirements.

“Physically accessible”: Everyone has the right to a water service that is physically accessible within or in the immediate vicinity of the household, educational institution, workplace, or health institution.

“Affordable”: Water and water facilities and services must be affordable for all.
