Diaspora Engagement -Shaping our community Future
The Haitian population in the US is highly concentrated in a few states: New York, Miami, Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta. NYFOH aims to connect Haitians around the globe to help empower Haiti through the following initiatives:
- Seeking partnerships with agencies that could bring added value to our community.
- Looking towards grants and sponsorships to create scholarships for exceptional students as they take their next steps towards college.
- Alleviating poverty in Haiti.
- Enriching the economies of underprivileged rural areas.
- Strengthening relationships among the Haitian Diaspora and other ethnic groups.
- Uplifting the lives of our fellow Haitians.
- Protecting Haiti’s biodiversity.
- Eradicating all adult illiteracy.
- Promoting economic recovery and job creation.
Cultural Exchange:
NYFOH will build its capacity as a means to vital cultural exchange in areas related to:
- Food
- Language
- Dance
- Art
- Film
- Poetry
Volunteering:
You can offer your services as a volunteer in the following ways:
- To share your vision for your community.
- To address a problem and present possible solutions.
- To seek further information regarding an issue you are having that has not been resolved.
Remember, the more we share, the more we know, and the less we fear.
