Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve been able to raise funds to facilitate a crucial mission. A team of Haitian American journalists embarked on a journey to Del Rio, Texas, and Mexico, standing in solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters facing deportation and struggling with language barriers. Their firsthand accounts have shed light on the harsh realities these individuals endure.
These seasoned journalists, working hand in hand with NYFOH members, played a pivotal role in uncovering the journeys and living conditions of our Haitian community in these regions. We provided vital assistance, including translation services, clothing, food, water, and essential support. Additionally, we facilitated communication between refugees and their families, ensuring they remained connected despite the distance. Their assessments were instrumental in our ability to offer immediate aid.
