Combatting Deforestation: Restoring Haiti’s Forests Through Reforestation Efforts

Facing the Challenge: Deforestation in Haiti

In Haiti, deforestation poses a significant threat to both the environment and the livelihoods of its people. The problem is exacerbated by a lack of job opportunities for farmers, leading them to resort to cutting down trees for fuel, particularly for charcoal production. Consequently, Haiti’s forests are rapidly disappearing, contributing to increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere and exacerbating the impacts of climate change.

However, there is hope on the horizon. Through reforestation efforts like ours, we are working to address this critical issue. By planting trees, such as the 10,000 Pinus Occidentalis showcased in our recent video, we are taking a vital step towards replenishing Haiti’s forests and combating climate change.
